“Macaroni at Midnight”:  How one person in a traumatized child’s life can make all the difference!

Join us in hearing internationally recognized speaker and social activist, Dr. Don Bartlette, share his autobiographical story of inspiration and hope despite adversity. He travels across North American and other countries to share his story of perseverance and the power of intervention by one adult who cares. “Macaroni at Midnight” chronicles his life as a Native American child growing up in the face of disability, poverty, rejection by his community, family and school violence, racism, abuse, and family alcoholism. He has been featured on radio and television programs, including Family Talk with Dr. James Dobson. His story has been portrayed in a stage drama, book, and song. Dr. Bartlette is a married father of eight children.

Despite his lack of formal elementary education and being unable to speak until adolescence due to a severe cleft palate, Dr. Bartlette went on to graduate valedictorian of his high school, earn his B.A. in Social Work and Philosophy, M.Ed. in Counseling, and Ph.D. in Education. Dr. Bartlette is a former social worker, counselor, school superintendent and educator with over 40 years of experience working with at-risk youth through city, county, state, and national organizations.

This year’s conference will be on March 28, 2018 and March 29, 2018.  Dr. Bartlette will be presenting on March 28, 2018.
